Introduction:
IFG's director of Sales and Marketing, Matthew Murray, welcomes the Senior Vice President of 4Core Financial, Michael Jadach, into the podcast studio for a conversation about their three-year partnership with Innovative Financial Group (IFG) and the phenomenal success his team has achieved leaving a captive environment.
Mike grew up in Derby, Connecticut. He is a sports fan who played college football at Central Connecticut University—married for 25 years with two successful daughters, college educated, and all paid for by insurance. Mike entered the insurance industry through divine intervention with Bankers Life, working as a captive agent for their "Agent of the Year" in sales.
Mike shares his wisdom as a former captive agent, " I want to dispel the myth. There's a narrative: if you want to get started in the insurance business, go your first years captive... Well, if you get hooked up with the right people on the independent side, you're going to get the same level of training support. If you get with the right people, you don't have to give up comp just for the training and support."
Matthew shared that 4 Core Financial is unique. The founding partners took a bold approach by moving to an independent model from a captive environment. They are now bringing on another generation of agents as independents to serve their clients with more options in the market, working with multiple carriers.

One of the pillars of the 4 Core success is technology. Matthew shared some backstory about building out the IFG CRM. And how 4 Core embraced the technology and helped grow the level of support by asking questions and pushing the limits of its capability. Matthew brags on 4 Core, "Before some people leave something else and go into something new with technology and new tools, they get scared, but you guys ran right at it. It's been fun to watch you guys grow. Now, when 4 Core comes in, I have to have higher-level conversations about things you can do."
Matthew asked Mike what does 4 Core mean. "4 Core is the four main concerns in retirement that seniors have—first, quality affordable healthcare via Medicare. Second is aging in place, focusing on Short and Long-term Care. Third, Life and Legacy concerns may include Final Expense, Mortgage Protection, and Legacy planning. The last core issue is financial stability on the investment side - Wealth Management and Annuity Planning."
Mike shares the 4 Core vision, "For a lot of agencies or IMOs, they have a niche, whether it be Medicare or Final Expense... Our niche is we will be very good in all areas, not just focus on one. We don't think we should take care of one client's concern and potentially leave them with two or three other scenarios that could be worse. That client is looking me in the eye and trusting me to give them advice. I'm going to do the full job."
